One of Chicago’s largest privately
owned insurance agencies, located on N. Michigan Avenue, seeks an
experienced Account Manager on our dynamic Benefits team.
Job Requirements:
Applicants must have a minimum of 3-5 years of directly relevant experience
working with clients on employee health benefits including fully insured,
self-funded or minimum premium plans. Must have a strong knowledge of
marketplace and familiarity with clients in the middle to larger markets.
Employment history must demonstrate consistent job performance and the
ability to juggle a multitude of responsibilities, highly detailed, while
working in a demanding team environment. Experience should include prior
project management experience in RFP processes, and benefit implementations.
Strong financial modeling skills a must, as well as superior written and
verbal communication skills; including ability to make formal presentations
to clients. Must be licensed and be available for some overnight travel.
Proficient in Word and Excel; skilled in Power Point a plus. College degree
and/or professional Benefits designations highly desired.
Responsibilities include:
As an instrumental part of the Benefits team, Account Manager will be
heavily involved with client and potential Benefits’ client issues. Will
analyze and evaluate member utilization patterns and prepare monthly
experience reports and quarterly claims studies. In collaboration with
Account Executive, will prepare presentations and meet with clients for
pre-renewal and renewal meetings and participate in vendor selection and
specifications. Will assess risk and make proactive financial
recommendations. Account Manager will develop and analyze RFPs;
trouble-shoot claims issues, review SPDS and other contracts/booklets for
accuracy; provide assistance with compliance-related issues. Manager will
strategize and coordinate benefits implementation and create communication
strategies for clients.
